Welcome...

Welcome...

"This past season was filled with many pleasures both anticipated and unexpected, and the upcoming 2019-2020 season is no different.  As usual, it will be heavy on Bach: Cantatas BWV 14, 40, 157; Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium, Johannespassion, and the Messe in h-moll; the Passion Cantata of Homilius, one of Bach's best students, appears as well.  A debut with Belgium's celebrated ensemble Currende will include early polyphonic music by Desprez, Gombert, Lassus, and others, and the latter half of the season will include more familiar pieces from Haydn, Mozart, and Brahms; Handel's Messiah in Newfoundland, and the Toronto performance of Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs and Symphony no. 1.  Everything culminates in the June 2020 role debut as baritone soloist in Beethoven's magnificent Symphony No.9.  Five centuries of classical music... time travel is real!"
